Winter of Mixed Drinks

Leather Jacket - Primark
White Skater Dress - Topshop
Tartan Scarf - Ebay (here)
Necklace - Topshop

I ordered this scarf last week from Ebay blatantly ignoring the current season we're in; I don't know about the rest of the UK but Ireland has been so ridiculous! Downpours everyday and it's really cold at night time, if you woke up from a coma you'd swear it was the height of winter. But anyway, loving this new purchase , the colours aren't my usual scene at all, in fact this is probably the only red thing i own but i really love it, the fabric is so soft i can't stop touching it (a felted weave possibly!) I would usually never wear tights in summer but when there's torrential rain outside it just can't be helped really.. Hope the weather is a bit better where you all are and the shades and sun dresses are out!

Sharing what i'm wearing! #4

Blouse - H&M (Studs from Ebay)
Necklace - Topshop
Floral Blouse - Exhibit
Knitted Foil Jumper - Topshop
Necklace - Topshop

Very, very short outfit post.. Two little snapshots of what i've wore over the last couple of days; I've been a bit under the weather hence the sheer laziness of these photographs and hair in a top knot! Throat infections are the worst. But anyway, I've been quietly planning my next textiles venture, alongside developing some more detachable collars (see in a previous post) , i'm going to be doing some lettered cushions! I've made cushions before for my HND exhibition and my finals at uni so i've got a pretty good idea what i'm doing, just a matter of getting some nice new material (excitement - such a fabric nerd).

Also just reached 100 followers in the space of only 2 weeks, which i am completely baffled by but thank you anyway you are all lovely!

DIY - Ombre from head to .. hand!

Dark - 'Spotted Pig' by Topshop
Medium - 'Big Smoke' by Topshop
Light - 'Threadbare' by Topshop

For someone with a degree in design, and is a dab hand with a pencil or a paintbrush, i am absolutely woeful at anything nail art related; even just painting them always ends up a mess, my friends don't hold back on telling me this either! So i am delighted to find a technique that retires the nail brush and requires a sponge! Ombre nails are so simple and easy to do. The best thing to use would be triangular makeup sponges, but if you cut a piece of a car sponge i'm sure it would do the same job. Pick three polishes that look like they would blend out well from darkest to lightest; take the sponge and paint a stripe of the darkest polish, then the medium and finally the lightest and press the sponge onto your nail (just so you know..this will literally clatter your fingers and thumbs as well!). I did a couple of coats and reapplied the polish to the sponge quite a few times as i went along. Once they are dry, get some nail polish remover and remove the excess polish that will undoubtedly be all over your fingers with a piece of cotton wool or an ear bud. And that's it!

Recent Purchase: Soap & Glory

001. Soap & Glory 'No Clogs Allowed: Super Self Heating Deep Pore Detox Mask'
I picked this up last minute without really looking at it in Boots one day; I just seen the word 'deep pore detox' and immediately rushed to the till! I have some issues with pores on my nose and chin, but nowhere else on my face are pores visible, and i'm no dermatologist but i'm guessing it's because my skin can be quite oily in these particular regions and it's causing the pores to open. I have tried every lotion, potion and pore strip packs i can get my hands on and nothing ever makes a difference so i didn't get my hopes up, though i was really intrigued by this self heating scrub. I've only used it twice but it does state on the pack that it should only be used a couple of times a week. You massage a grape sized amount into your skin and wait a few minutes before rinsing it off using water and the little sponge provided in the box. (Be warned parts of the scrub turn blue, no need to call the dermatologist!). I would by no means say this is a miracle product just yet, but i have noticed pores slightly less visible after only two uses, and perhaps it's a combination of this and my new found religious use of Etat Pur's 'Acide Salicylique' but my skin has honestly never looked better.

002. Soap & Glory Supercat: Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen (with inkjet colour technology and gloss-fix finish)
I can honestly i'm completely sold on this refined black liner. Having used a Collection 2000 liquid liner for the last few years (you know when you just stick to a certain product because you're used to it?) with its little black ink pot and soft, spongy, flexible applicator, this sturdy and stable yet fine tip makes it much easier to apply, and gives you total control. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who likes cat eyes or winged liner.

003. Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner
Another Soap & Glory product that i'd recommend. The texture of the pencil is the perfect combination; a smooth and creamy texture with a solid feel. It can be easily smudged for a smokey smouldering eye without ending up melting all over your face (not a great look!). There is also a sharpener attached to the lid! Revolutionary, right!?

Have you tried these products? I'd love to know what everyone thinks of them!

Pastel  Blue Button Shirt - Topshop
Blazer - Vintage (Millie & Me, Derry)
Levis Shorts - Ebay
Skull & Cross Necklace - Topshop
Dear Ring - Primark
Stone Ring - Topshop
Lips - 'Vintage Pink' by Rimmel

So last time i checked my hair was pretty brown at the top, it's got a mind of it's own when the sun comes out! I wanted to show off the cross and skull necklace in the top picture but instead managed to highlight everything that is wrong about not getting your hair professionally cut in over a year; so many split and dead ends! I'm completely petrified of hairdressers, i always dye and trim it myself because any time i've had it dyed by someone else i'm forced into an awkward act of false happiness before leaving and gracing the hair dye aisle in Boots in a matter of minutes after leaving! Does anyone else have this ridiculous hairdresser trust issue? I've left it so long  It's got the point that no miracle product can help me now, so i'm going to bite the bullet and arrange a cut, RIP split ends with a bit of luck!

Sharing what i'm Wearing! #2

Lips - 'Mischief' by Topshop
Khaki Shirt - Urban Outfitters
T-Shirt - Topshop
Skirt - Oxfam (£6!)
Cross Necklace - Topshop
Sandals - Miss Selfridge
Satchel - River Island (Psst..menswear)

Just a quick post on what i wore today into town. I hate wearing jeans/trousers so this charity shop bargain skirt comes in handy on a mild day! It was only £6 from an Oxfam Vintage charity shop in Belfast, absolute bargain! I've dressed it up with wheels to wear on a night out too so it was a steal at £6. I had intentions of dip dying it with 'Powder Pink' dylon but never got around to it, which i'm pretty glad about now. All in all you really can't beat a cheap charity shop purchase that you love! Agreed!?

Recent Purchase:Topshop Lipsticks

Pink Lipstick - 'Secret Admirer'
Red Lipstick - 'Mischief'
Both by Topshop

A few parcels came for me today! Always exciting. Among some other things i ordered two lipsticks. I always feel safe buying from the Topshop lipstick range as the colour shown is always the colour you're going to get, whereas I've found with other brands they can look completely different on your lips. The Topshop sticks also have a nice consistency, creamy and not prone to drying up too fast, though i always put a coat of balm on if i'm going out anyway! I love both these shades and can see the nude ending up in my everyday makeup! The red is actually a bit daring for me as i usually stick to nudes and pinks, though another lipstick i have from this range is 'Beguiled' which a vampy kind of red/purple and i wore it out every night for about two months over winter - too keen. What do you think of the Topshop makeup range?

Web Picks 003. Festival Attire!

001. Nails in 'Ice Crush' - Topshop 002.Giant Silver Cross Earrings - Miss Selfridge 003.Alexy Platform Chelsea Boots - Topshop 004.Sparkle & Fade Smudge Jersey Maxi Skirt - Urban Outfitters 005. Acid Wash Backpack - Topshop 006. Macrame Top with Fringing - Zara

Seeing as it's summer time and ferstivals are in full swing i decided to do a Web Pics post on festival attire! I'm seriously considering going to Electric Picnic festival in September so it got me thinking about outfits.. I adore these Alexy boots by Topshop! They're kind of like an updated version of the Allegra boots (which i still prefer if i'm honest), pretty pricey but i think it's more than worth it for the amount of wear these would get all year round.

Sharing what i'm wearing!

001.Leather Handbag - Topshop 002.Heart Print Frill Socks - Topshop 003.Bird Ring - Primark, Stone Ring - Miss Selfridge, Nails in 'Smoney Marble - 17 004. Ear Cuff - Topshop

Vintage Pink Dress - Topshop
Leather Jacket - Primark (Old)
Black Wedge Heel - Chockers

Useless iPhone photos! I went out last night as my friend Kathy is home from Manchester for a few days and had some time to spare so i thought i'd take a few snaps for an outfit post. I'll never master self timers, so pixelated iphone photo's it is! This dress was one of those impulse buys i forgot all about it since my degree show exhibition, i wore it with a pastel mint blazer and brown lace up wedges and wasn't that into it on a whole, but when i put it on with black i fell in love with it! I've worked out something recently from nights of endless outfit changes and turning my room into a sea of clothes, i won't be happy with an outfit unless there's an accent of black somewhere! Which is annoying as it's summer time and is sort of frowned upon, no!? .. Anyway, i'm going to go into town tomorrow and get some new materials to start making things, (bunting and more detachable collars are on the to do list) i've been so lazy recently, no doubt i'm going to end up just buying clothes and makeup and going for lunch with my friends, SIGH

Joliebox: July

Finally! I received my July Joliebox this morning and i'm pretty pleased with the contents; I think i would use almost all the products, and for the delivery mix up in June the July boxes are a little more filled out than usual. (Let's face it they had to do something!) I'm so tempted to subscribe to Glossybox, as well i just love the surprise element to them it's like getting a birthday present every month! (One that you pay for and subscribe to..) What put me off subscribing to Glossybox was that they used Collection 2000 in a recent box, not that there is anything wrong with Collection 2000 products it's just not a luxury brand so it defeats the purpose a bit?

001.Wen by Chaz Dean. Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner - One way to win me over is with a hair conditioning product, to be honest there could have been nothing else but grass in this box and i'd of still been happy! It smells so yummy, i can't stop opening it! Also, almond based products are always promising; It's really good for hair and skin so i'm really excited to use this.

002. Etat Pur A22 Salicylic Acid 300 - I'm going to admit i had absolutely no idea what this was. Turns out it's a chemical based treatment for skin blemishes and acne. I'm lucky enough to avoid spots but i'm going to give it a whirl to see how it evens out my blemishes. It smells quite clinical and clean.

003. Institut Esthederm Bronz Repair Anti-Wrinkle Tanning Cream - I've actually used this product before and i can safely say it is amazing. Literally cannot praise it enough, it goes onto the skin really smoothly and provides long-lasting hydration. I used this on holidays and was really surprised at the results, being usually quite sceptical of this kind of product that promises ridiculous things, but it does work! After a few hours in the sun you get the most even bronze hint. I just need to book a holiday now..

004. Jane Iredale Tantasia - I'm actually really intrigued by this product! I have such a love/hate thing going on with instant tans as they never go on right or always look really muddy, such a pet hate! I'd sooner walk around pale as a ghost than look caked in dirt. But on the other hand it's quick and easy. The only other build up tan like this one that i have tried is Boots and it's so sticky and has the strangest smell, i just branded all tinted moisturisers the same but this looks really promising. It's a creamy texture and just sinks into the skin, it also has a nice orange citrus scent! Looking forward to trying it out.

005. Gold and Bronze Nailpolish by Nailgirls - I've wanted to try this brand for ages! Nailgirls, if you don't know, are London's authority to nails and have been providing looks for London Fashion week for the last three seasons. They're products are also free of any harmful chemicals and are not tested on animals. I'm not sure i'd use the bronze colour if i'm honest, but i love the gold! If i hadn't done my nails last night i'd already have it on!

Web Picks 002.

001.Black Sleeveless Smock Tunic - Topshop 002.Gold Two Row Cross Necklace - Topshop 003.Vintage Surplus Oversize Miliary Shirt - Urban Outfitters 004 -Lips in Sartorial - Topshop Makeup 005. Triangle Post Earrings - Urban Outfitters 006. Black & Sheer Stripe Socks - Urban Outfitters

Went a bit Topshop and Urban Outfitters mad and bought all this online today, thought i'd make a Web Picks post while i was at it! It's quite a wintery looking outfit but given the current lack of sun i'm not too bothered. I'm not sure i'm going to suit the red lipstick, i love it on everyone else but i just always think it's not very me! I always wear nude pinks, or my favorite is 'Vintage Pink' by Rimmel (purple container!). All items are linked, i know it's not very obvious.

Artsy Daisy: Detachable Collars

These are a couple of experimental detachable collar's i spent Tuesday working on! I completely winged it with the templates (so sketchy and not even at all) so as soon as i get those perfected i can't wait to make some more! I love the triangular collar and i'm thinking it could be nice in some white wash denim with conical studs! Also have some ideas for dip dying white collars as well. These photos are absolutely awful, i'm in a rush as i've decided to go out tonight for a few cocktails with some friends i haven't seen in a while! And i was busy dying my hair this afternoon, just a toner as the top was getting a bit brassy! But anyway, maybe if i get the techniques sorted and make a few more i'll put a tutorial up if anyone is actually interested! I know there are already tonnes online.
